The principal function of YMS is to raise funds. Without funds, YMS would not be able to continue supporting the musicians (and audiences) of the future. As might be expected, most fund-raising activities involve making music. Events Come to YMS events like these:

• Tamsin Little with The Naked Violin – a recital at Woolhanger Manor
• John Slack (a YMS alumnus) and The Berkeley Ensemble at Chulmleigh
• Zoe Cartlidge et al (YMS awardees) at the Pilton Church for an evening of words and music
• Sir Thomas Allen at The Park Hotel in a convivial evening of dinner and conversation.

YMS has also provided musicians in order to enhance events, including Open Garden Days and theatrical performances. YMS musicians have played at National Trust properties and other tourist attractions, as well as at private functions.
